蒙古名ネワン、ノヘイ、譯して細狗といふ細狗の最も優秀なるものは柳條邊墻の近くに居り、興安嶺地方に入るとやゝ劣り、興安嶺を西に超ゆれば全く居ない。恐らくは蒙古人古來の家畜ではなくて、その移住以前からこの地方に飼はれてゐたものだと思はれる。遼代の墓から發掘された犬の木塑の如き輕快、番犬より狩獵用に使ひ、普通では耳を切る。それは狼に嚙りつかれぬ用心である。｜（一九、二七、一〇撮影）（印畫の複製を禁ず）
