Description'The Bishop of Buckden' - geograph.org.uk - 731896.jpg
English: 'The Bishop of Buckden' Memorial in St.Mary's chancel to the controversial Thomas Barlow, Bishop of Lincoln 1675-1691. Unquestionably of a brilliant mind and great academic achievement, he was disparagingly referred to as 'The Bishop of Buckden' as he much preferred the Bishop's Palace at Buckden http://fobt.org.uk/ to his residence in Lincoln. He died at Buckden on October 8th 1691, aged 85, having only visited Lincoln twice during his 16 years as Bishop.
