English: 'Spencer' (1800) Scale: 1:48. Plan showing the body plan, sheer lines, and longitudinal half-breadth for building 'Spencer' (1800), a 74-gun Third Rate, two-decker, at Bucklers Hard by Messrs Adams. This plan was prepared from a proposal by Mr Barrallier, a French emigre. The plan also shows alterations to the rudder when 'Spencer' was in Plymouth Dockyard between August and November 1818. The suggested amendment to the rudder was made by the ship's Captain - Captain Samuel C. Rowley (appointed to the ship on 28 September 1818) [seniority: 29 April 1802]. |
