Spiesen-Elversberg is a municipality in the district of Neunkirchen, in Saarland, Germany. It is situated approximately 4 km southwest of Neunkirchen, and 15 km northeast of Saarbrücken.
Anne-Karin Mayer, the German pop singer, was born in Spiesen-Elversberg in 1948 [3]
Sport
[edit]The district of Elversberg has a popular football team, which is called SV Elversberg, which plays at the URSAPHARM-Arena an der Kaiserlinde. The team has experienced success in recent years, rising three tiers in the German football league system. It now competes in Germany's 2nd level, the 2. Bundesliga. It is currently the strongest team in Saarland, having surpassed 1. FC Saarbrücken in 2023.
