Looks viable
[edit]@Moxy: Nice cleanup. The article could still be improved further, but the shift to mainspace looks justified to me.
If someone wants to work further on the article, I would suggest expanding the "Effects" section - for which there seem to be plenty of references. My main thought is that someone taking a first look at this article - or just the title - may wonder what difference there is between "men with guns" versus "women with guns" - won't "women with guns" become as brutal as "men with guns"? Presenting the clarification that peacekeeping is more than "people with guns" and providing the evidence for the answers to these naive questions both seem important to answering these sorts of potential readers. This is already done briefly, but the evidence may be sufficient to go further. Boud (talk) 16:25, 12 April 2024 (UTC)
- My additions are work overflow from Canadian peacekeeping GA review. Simply info that I found in my research. Need more input from female editors (by way of sources ) as to what is the major tocpis to cover here. That said "Further reading" has great sources that I added for research. (sorry lots of typos... on my phone and have MS). User:Nikkimaria and User:Joeyconnick canhelp with COPYEDIT..they are great in this reguard. Moxy🍁 16:58, 12 April 2024 (UTC)
Off-topic paragraph
[edit]In this edit, I removed a paragraph that starts with the non sequitur (fallacy) However, despite the efforts of UN women peacekeepers to maintain peace and promote gender equality, the COVID-19 pandemic has had serious negative impacts on women through four aspects.
and continues to the impact of the pandemic on women. The introductory sentence, with despite
, leaves the reader wondering how UN women peacekeepers' actions could have been expected to have prevented the COVID-19 pandemic from affecting women. The rest is about the pandemic's effect on women.
@4xxxx4: The paragraph was apparently added by you in this edit. If you or someone else wants to use that paragraph (without the non sequitur first sentence) somewhere, then from looking at the navigation bar {{COVID-19 pandemic}}, I would suggest one of:
- impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on female education
- impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on pregnant women
- gendered impact of the COVID-19 pandemic
