Created the page - Notes

[edit]

I just created the page, adding and incorporating appropriate photos on Wikimedia Commons.

I stayed as neutral as possible, refraining from personal opinion, only citing quoted sources; I was particularly careful to stay neutral in my writing as I am the director of the mentioned documentary "Statue of Liberty" about Tomas Kurth.

In the future, I plan to expand the page with more information, particularly detailing his earlier, 1970s-90s exhibits. Those were mostly covered in printed press of the era, often not found online. Once I locate more information, I will incorporate it. ATuschinski (talk) 17:04, 23 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@ATuschinski, per my note on your talk page re WP:COI, your should refrain from making any further edits to the article but you can make suggestions to the talk page (see my request below re notability). thanks. Aszx5000 (talk) 20:45, 23 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Aszx5000Thanks for the explanation. Now that the article is in the draft space, I keep making additions. While I know Tomas Kurth personally, as declared, I follow Wikipedia's standards of writing to the best of my ability, trying to be neutral in language and impartial with the information I add. What steps would be necessary to eventually remove the COI note? Are there passages in the article that necessitate it? ATuschinski (talk) 12:06, 18 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Notability

[edit]

A well-constructed article but there is very little evidence of real notability here. I don't see significant pieces on him in high-quality independent national (or international) sources. It is mostly connected sources or lower grade source and blogs. If the creator could post the best WP:3REFS on the talk page, I could have a look at them. thanks. Hi, thanks for taking a look and for the nice words :)
I will look for more sources in the coming days. A lot of exhibits and press coverage, to my understanding, took place in pre-internet days (1970s-early 1990s), so I will search for actual, physical press clippings, which might take a bit of time. (The 1994 press clippings found online as scans, quoted in the article, are an example).
The retrospective at Theaterhaus Stuttgart in Summer 2023 was quite a notable exhibit last year. Theaterhaus is a very reputable and major place in Germany also for displaying art of various kinds, refering to its German wikipedia page. It dedicated almost its entire public interior spaces over several floors to displaying Kurth's works for several months. I feel there should be some coverage about that, I will look for it. Kind regards ATuschinski (talk) 11:15, 24 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Re-Published article

[edit]

Thank you very much for the feedback! Over the past months, I expanded the article greatly and added various sources, improving it much compared to the original version. I kept the tone and style as neutral and descriptive as possible. I believe with the newly added sources (a selection of newspaper articles, most before the year 2000), notability is more clearly established. ATuschinski (talk) 19:54, 3 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
