Missing Peter Jacksons

[edit]

How about Cinematographer Peter Jackson, who worked on The Darling Buds of May, A Touch of Frost and many other programmes. He is listed on IMDB as Peter Jackson (II) and died in 2006. If there was ever a need for disambiguation, this must come very high on the list as one is a Film Director and the other a Director of Photography. I have deleted:

  • Democratic political consultant
  • Aussie clothing store

as I can't find sources with Google. They can go back if reliable references can be found. TerriersFan 21:25, 22 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't care if it's included or not, but for the record, Peter Jackson is definitely a chain of menswear stores here in Melbourne; they advertise on TV all the time. I believe they have been around for many years. Here's a link to a Yellow Pages search showing Peter Jackson 10 stores in Melbourne. ntennis 00:47, 23 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Splendid, got it now, many thanks. TerriersFan 02:55, 23 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation

[edit]

What's the point of having a "Peter Jackson (Disambiguation)" page if searching for Peter Jackson doesn't lead to it? I think Peter Jackson should lead to "Peter Jackson (Disambiguation)". Peter Jackson the filmmaker's page should be renamed "Peter Jackson (filmmaker)". —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Jeff79 (talkcontribs) 21:09, 20 February 2007 (UTC).[reply]

No, it is the contrary (according our dab policy). If there is a main page, the disambiguation page will have the suffix "(disambiguation)". There is no need for such suffix if the main page is already a dab page. Again, WP:DAB#Primary topic explains wikipedia policy, and you can ask question about the policy in that page. Anyway, the first sentence of the article points to the disambiguation page. Cate | Talk 09:25, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
