About linking Bridge over Troubled Water (song)
[edit]Hey there, anonymous editor, it looks like we disagree on whether this article should be linked in the infobox. I'm of the opinion that linking to the Simon & Garfunkel song would be misleading in that context, as I believe a reader would click on that link expecting to go to an article about the Jacob Collier song. Until an article is created about it, it should stay unlinked. That article is already linked in the prose of the article and mentioned in the notes of the track listing. Let me know what you think! —TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 20:30, 26 February 2024 (UTC)
- The Collier recording will never have its own article because of WP:NCOVER. Linking to the S&G song will give readers more information about the song. If you prefer, we can link to the section. 2A02:AA1:1145:6540:4EA4:62F3:7D0A:5C41 (talk) 16:04, 27 February 2024 (UTC)
- Never is a strong word, but I see what you mean. However, I think I would prefer no link to a section link. Consider why a reader might be clicking on a link in the "singles" section of the infobox on this album — they would mostly likely be looking for some additional detail about Collier's single, not the recording it was based on. The most information about the single on Wikipedia is right here on this article, so not linking it would encourage readers to continue perusing this article for more. —TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 16:21, 27 February 2024 (UTC)
- Lacking a response here with an argument to keep the link, I'm soon going to remove the link. I would leave a courtesy notification on your talk page, but your IP appears to have shifted, so I don't think you'll recieve the ping. —TechnoSquirrel69 (sigh) 03:13, 1 March 2024 (UTC)
