In response to the Editor's remarks (Robert McClenon), please bear in mind that this is my first Wikipedia entry and I am still learning the process. I am a historian and scholar of the 1960's. I intend to create a number of entries of notable poets, writers and artists of that time period, some still alive and some not. The term "direct expression lyric poet" was coined by Allen Ginsberg around 1970. As Wikipedia notes [[1]], lyric poetry is "a formal type of poetry which expresses personal emotions or feelings, typically spoken in the first person." Direct expression means verbal or nonverbal behaviors that communicate an internal emotional or affective state. Hence, Matson's poetry is intensely emotional, generally first person and emanate from the psyche through meditative processes (and, early in his career, from drug-induced states, which was also true of Allen Ginsberg himself). The photographer whose photo I want to use in the infobox, Vic Owens, had a credit attached to the photo. I requested a release from Mr. Owens and he sent a permission e-mail to the Wikipedia photosubmission and I believe it is still in the queue. I think I can't upload it until it is approved. As for the deleted article, I had assumed after checking that that entry for Clive Matson had been permanently deleted. Upon your inquiry I was amazed to see that in April another editor apparently brought it back in, after I had checked. I can't verify that right now as Wikipedia's deleted article page is offline for maintenance. I had Mr. Matson review that article, which he had believed to be permanently deleted, and he maintained that almost every statement in that entry is false or inconsequential. The only data I could have used were a few review citations but I had developed my own citations by going through the Matson archive, to which I was given access. If need be, Mr. Matson is willing to file a complaint with Wikipedia concerning the deleted article. He wanted it deleted from the Internet but I explained to him that nothing is ever deleted entirely from the ether. In fact, on initial research, being aware there had been a draft article prepared by a third party, I searched and could not find it. When I did find it, I assumed I should start an entirely new article, not use the deleted one, which was also very poorly written. I hope this is sufficient to allow this article to be cleared for upload. Writing an article takes a long time if the editor does their research properly and I would much prefer getting into my next project. Thank you for your consideration of my responses.
