NASCAR 25 is a upcoming racing video game simulating the 2025 NASCAR season. It will be developed by Monster Games and will be published by iRacing in the fall of 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Windows via Steam, and Nintendo Switch.[1][2]
iRacing acquires NASCAR team properties exclusive simulation-style console racing game license
[edit]Following the controversial releases of NASCAR 21: Ignition and the Next Gen cars on NASCAR Heat 5 by Motorsport Games, many fans called out Motorsport Games for the lack of updated paint schemes on the Next Gen cars in NASCAR Heat 5.
On October 5, 2023, it was announced that Motorsport Games sold the license for the exclusive NASCAR video game to iRacing.[3] The sell was praised by many people between drivers and fans, The sale, approved by NTP, will see the license transfer from 704Games, a wholly owned subsidiary of Motorsport Games, to iRacing, which has begun developing a NASCAR console game expected in Fall of 2025.
Development
[edit]On February 8, 2024, it was reported that NASCAR 25 will use Unreal Engine, an engine that had been used on the previous NASCAR Heat series.[4]
On August 2, 2024, NASCAR and iRacing launched a dev diary series discussing the development of NASCAR '25, Part two was released October 31, 2024. [5][6]
