[edit]Kuhn attended Norco High School in Norco, California.[1] During his senior year, Kuhn made fastballs touching 84-88 while recording 75 strikeouts, an ERA of 2.94, and a 6-3 record for 64.1 innings.[2] After his senior year, Kuhn committed to the University of San Diego to play College Baseball. Where he finished 3-3 and recorded an ERA of 3.54 with 64 strikeouts in 48.1 innings.[3]
Professional career
[edit]Kuhn was selected in the nineteenth round of the 2019 Major League Baseball draft by the Seattle Mariners.[4] He signed with the Mariners for US$85,000.[5] He made his professional debut in the same year with the Everett Aqua Sox, pitching 18 games with an ERA of 6.95, 25 strikeouts and 4 saves in 22 innings, before being reassigned to the West Virginia Power, where he only played 2 games.[6] Kuhn did not make an appearance on the mound in 2020 due to the minor league season being cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.[7] In 2021, Kuhn was assigned to the Everett Aqua Sox again; this time he played just 3 games before being reassigned to the Modesto Nuts, where he played in 21 games and recorded an ERA of 3.86 with 36 strikeouts and 5 saves. He was then reassigned to the Tacoma Rainiers, where he only played 1 game.[8][9] Following the 2022 season, Kuhn was ranked 29th in the Mariners's top 30 prospect list.[10] When assigned to the Arkansas Travelers, he recorded 71 strikeouts with an ERA of 4.10 in 59.1 innings for 50 games.[11]
