Theatre III
Theatre III is a community theater located in Acton, Massachusetts. It was founded in 1955 as the Acton Community Center. The Little Theater Workshop, founded by Bob Darling[1] put on its first production, The Curious Savage, in 1956.[2] Two other local artistic organizations, Community Dance Theatre and The Acton Community Chorus combined with the Little Theater Workshop to form Theatre III.[3]
Theatre III celebrated its 50th anniversary during its 2005-2006 season with productions of The Music Man, A Christmas Carol, Blithe Spirit, and 50 Years of Favorites. [4]
Theatre III is located in a historic church built in 1868.[5] In 1925 the church was purchased and donated to the West Acton Women's Club before being used as a theater in 1955.[6]
Theatre III is a member of EMACT.[7]
