Shanto Khan was a Bangladeshi actor who is son of producer and Chandpur Sadar Upazila Selim Khan, who made his debut Prem Chor (2019) and is best known for his role as Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Tungiparar Miya Bhai (2021) is produced by his father who is supporter of Shekina Hasina.[1] during 2024 Bangladesh quota reform movement ‎, Khan and his father were lynced to death by rioters over supporting of Shekina Hasina and his death has shocked Bengali film inddusty[2][3][4][5][6]

Life and Career

He made his debut in 2019 in the film "Prem Chor" (2019), which was produced by his father, Selim Khan. He starred in five films during his short career, including "Bikkhov" (2022) and "Bubujaan" (2023) [7].

at his death, he worked on two films during his lifetime.

Death

During the 2024 Bangladesh quota reform movement, Khan and his father tried to escape from an angry mob in Chandpur. His father, a supporter of Hasina, was targeted by the mob. They attempted to reach the Bagarabazar area but were caught and lynched. Khan's death shocked the Bengali cinema industry, including Dev (for whom Selim served as producer of Commando), Jeet, and his co-star Bonny Sengupta, who posted a tribute to Shanto. Rajatava Dutta pay tribute to Khan.
