History

[edit]

Rampart-AI started in 2018 with a goal to improve application security by focusing on allowed behaviors instead of known vulnerabilities. The team was challenged to develop a solution that could defend against attacks within trusted software without needing to rewrite it. They saw the growing issues with known vulnerabilities and created a new approach based on behavior-based anomaly detection. They built and tested this solution, named Rampart™. After their initial success, Rampart-AI's suite of products entered the commercial market in 2021 to provide reliable security solutions.[2]

Technology

[edit]

Rampart-AI's technology centers around behavior-based anomaly detection. This approach allows the system to identify and block suspicious activities based on deviations from normal behavior patterns. Unlike traditional methods that rely on known vulnerability signatures, Rampart™ can effectively mitigate threats by focusing on the behaviors themselves, providing robust protection against zero-day attacks.[3]

Products

[edit]

Rampart-AI offers a range of products designed to enhance application security:

  • Rampart™ Application Security: Provides continuous monitoring of software applications to ensure smooth operation. Its architecture includes a server framework and language-specific agents. By using an automated behavior model, it identifies and blocks abnormal activities at runtime, enhancing threat detection for both known and unknown vulnerabilities. This technology improves application reliability and resilience, ensuring security even when interacting with untrustworthy clients.[4]
  • Rampart™ Cloud Security Platform: Available on AWS Marketplace, this platform provides proactive protection for your cloud infrastructure. It continuously monitors application deployments with exceptional precision and accuracy, utilizing first-of-its-kind Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) technology. It detects and mitigates application misbehaviors in real-time, ensuring robust security without relying on prior knowledge of attack vectors.[5]
  • Rampart™ GenAI Security: This product ensures that Generative AI (GenAI) code and models run as expected. It offers real-time threat detection, actionable telemetry, and reliability and security assurance for GenAI applications. Rampart-AI's GenAI Security helps organizations stay ahead in the AI landscape by improving speed to market, adaptability, and profitability.[6]
  • Rampart™ Network Security: (Coming soon) Future product aimed at enhancing network-level security with behavior-based anomaly detection.

Future Vision

[edit]

Rampart-AI continues to innovate and expand its capabilities. The company's vision includes ongoing development of advanced security technologies and expanding its reach to a global market. Their goal is to stay ahead of evolving cyber threats and provide robust security solutions that organizations can rely on.[7][8]
