Michael Lee Craig Jr (born August 11, 1991) is an American professional basketball player for Shinagawa City of the B3 League. His position is power forward.
Professional Career
[edit]Rayos de Hermosillo (2016)
[edit]After attending the Southern Mississippi until 2014, Michael Craig was drafted by the Reno Bighorns in the NBA Development League in 2015.[1]
In 2016, Michael Craig joined the Rayos de Hermosillo in Mexico's CIBACOPA league. He played in 54 games and led the league in assists (298) and points (1252).[2]
Seoul Samsung Thunders (2016–2017)
[edit]In the 2017-18 season, Michael Craig returned to the Seoul Samsung Thunders. In 2019, he played for the Faraones de Nuevo Casas Grandes in Mexico's LBE. In January 2020, he joined the Tokyo Cinq Rêves of the B3 League. That season, he played in 14 games, averaging 24.4 points and 7.3 assists per game.[3]
TNT Tropang Texters (2017)
[edit]In June 2017, Michael Craig joined the TNT Tropang Texters in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA),[4] where he played in three games.[5]
On May 31, 2017, Michael Craig re-signed with the Seoul Samsung Thunders.[6] In August 2017, Craig was replaced by Markeith Cummings.[7][8]
Faraones de Nuevo Casas Grandes (2019)
[edit]In 2019, Michael Craig played for the Faraones de Nuevo Casas Grandes in Mexico's LBE (Liga de Baloncesto Estatal).
Tokyo Cinq Rêves (2020)
[edit]In January 2020, Michael Craig joined the Tokyo Cinq Rêves in the B3 League.[9] That season, he played in 14 games, averaging 24.4 points and 7.3 assists per game.
Tokyo Excellence (2020–2021)
[edit]In September 2020, Michael Craig transferred to the Tokyo Excellence in the B3 League. During the 2020-21 season, he was crowned the league's assist leader with an average of 7.21 assists per game and was selected for the annual Best Five.[10]
Aomori Wat's (2021)
[edit]In July 2021, Michael Craig transferred to the Aomori Wat's in the B.LEAGUE B2. He played in 10 games but had his contract terminated in November of the same year.[11]
Kyoto Hannaryz (2021)
[edit]In December of the same year, Michael Craig joined the Kyoto Hannaryz in the B.LEAGUE B1. He played in 4 games but suffered a ruptured right Achilles tendon and left the team in the same month.[12]
Tokyo United (2022–2024)
[edit]In July 2022, Michael Craig moved to Tokyo United, a new entrant in the B3 League. During the 2022-23 season, he served as the vice-captain and achieved his second B3 assist title with an average of 6.54 assists per game. He was also selected for the annual Best Five for the second time.[13]
Shinagawa City (2024–present)
[edit]In June 2024, Michael Craig announced his transfer to Shinagawa City in the B3 League.[14] On November 22, 2024, during the match in Saitama, he achieved a total of 300 successful 3-point shots in his B.League career.
