Matlosana Rugby Academy is a community-driven sports initiative founded by Mr. Eric Xolani Bukani in Vaal Reefs–Umuzimuhle, Orkney. Located at No. 3 Vaal Reefs, the academy is the only facility of its kind within the Dr. Kenneth Kaunda District, dedicated to the development and promotion of rugby. Provincial Representation:

Girls Under-16: 22 players were selected for the North West provincial team. Girls Under-18: 12 players represented the province. Senior Women’s Team: Six senior players were selected for the provincial team, with some participating in the prestigious Women’s Currie Cup competition. Officials and Management: Three academy officials served as coaches and team managers at the provincial level, showcasing the academy's commitment to developing both players and rugby staff.

Boys’ Representation:

Under-13 Craven Week: Two academy players were selected for this well-regarded youth rugby event. Iqhawe Week (October 6–11, 2014): Fourteen players from Matlosana Rugby Academy represented North West Province at the Iqhawe Week tournament held in Cape Town, with two academy coaches joining as team officials. Tournaments and Events:

Heritage Tournament (September 25–29, 2014): The academy participated in this event at the University of Fort Hare in the Eastern Cape. Loftus Versfeld Tournament (October 13, 2014): The academy’s Under-14, Under-16, and Under-18 teams competed in a tournament hosted at Loftus Versfeld Stadium, providing players with valuable exposure and experience.
