Liam MacDevitt is an English television presenter and former footballer.[1][2] Most known for his work as a Reporter on BBC's Football Focus and Match of the Day X.

Prior to working as a journalist he had a career as a professional footballer.

Career

On 1 July 2012, MacDevitt signed a two-year contract with Yeovil Town. In his first year he scored twice[3] against Oxford United in the FA Youth Cup, the game finished 4-2 to Oxford United. MacDevitt was named in the first team against Exeter City on 11 August 2012.[4]

In his second year, Yeovil Town were promoted to the EFL Championship, Yeovil then subsequently closed their academy. MacDevitt joined Swindon Town, Bristol City, Farnborough,[5] Stoke City, and Livingston on youth loans.[5]

In 2015 MacDevitt joined[6] Gosport Borough in the National league South scoring on his debut[7] in a 6-3 victory against Sholing.

MacDevitt then joined St. Albans City on a free transfer.[8] Making his debut in a 1-0 loss against Ebbsfleet United.

In 2018 MacDevitt joined[9] Southern United in the ISPS Handa Premiership, In January 2019 he was transferred to Tasman United.

On returning to the UK in 2019 MacDevitt joined Stalybridge Celtic.[10]

Ahead of the 2020/21 season he signed for Bury AFC as the club's second ever signing.
