Kevin Mann (born February 27, 1976) is an American film producer and the founder and owner of management and production company, Haven Entertainment. Haven has gained recognition by producing award-winning documentaries, narrative feature films, and television.[1]
In 2022, Mann partnered with director Antoine Fuqua to executive produce the 10-part docuseries Legacy: The True Story of the LA Lakers (2022), now streaming on Hulu.[2] The series garnered several accolades including the 2023 Sports Emmy Award for Outstanding Documentary Series.[3] His additional documentary credits include: More than a Game (2008), a nominee for the People's Choice Award at TIFF; Under The Electric Sky (2014), which premiered at Sundance; Milius (2013), which premiered at the Telluride Film Festival; A Band Called Death (2012), which premiered at SXSW; and Autonomy (2019), in collaboration with Malcolm Gladwell.
In the scripted space, Mann recently produced the feature film, Goodrich (2024), with Daniela Taplin Lundberg's Stay Gold Features. The motion picture was written and directed by Hallie Meyers-Shyer and stars Michael Keaton and Mila Kunis.[4] Previously, Mann and Lundberg produced the feature Hello, My Name Is Doris (2015), directed by Michael Showalter and starring Sally Field, which won the Audience Award at SXSW and the Piaget Producers Award at the Independent Spirit Awards. He also produced three seasons of The Baxters (2024), the pilot Habata starring Jake Johnson, and the feature film Together Together (2021), starring Ed Helms and Patti Harrison which premiered at Sundance; and several series in collaboration with Complex, among them Sneakerheads (2020), which premiered on Netflix in 2020.
Personal Life
[edit]Education
[edit]Mann was raised in Bethesda, Maryland and attended Gonzaga College High School in Washington, D.C. He graduated from Syracuse University in 1998, where he was a member of the Big East Champion swim team in 1996.
Swim Coach
[edit]When Mann moved to Los Angeles in 2000, he called Loyola, a boys' Jesuit high school that reminded him of Gonzaga, to see if they needed help on the coaching deck. Luckily, there was an opening. More than two decades later, Mann continues to coach Loyola High School's swim team while maintaining his career as a producer.[5][6]
Relationships
[edit]In 2009, Mann reunited with his former fiancé and actress Kristen Bell on the comedy Fanboys (2009). Mann and Bell were together for five years before splitting in 2007.[7]
In late 2019, Mann began dating actress Rachael Leigh Cook but parted amicably a few years later.[8]
