Jude Ssemugabi is a Uganda Cranes striker who also plays for Kitara Football Club in the Uganda Premier League.[1]

Ssemugabi is the last born in the family of Leonard Kasujju and agnes Nalweyiso with other six siblings.[1] He made his debut on Uganda National team in a game against Congo on 11th September, 2024 in the Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers 2025 when he came on a substitute for Muhammad Shaban in the first half of the game to score the second goal for Uganda.[1][2][3][4]

Club Career

Ssemugabi started his career at Wabigalo Football Academy before joining Lake Victoria Soccer Academy in Entebbe.[1] He later joined Kiboga Young Football Club, Mbarara City FC and Kitara Football Club in the Uganda Premier League.[1] He scored a brace at the start of 2024/25 in a game where Kitara beat Lugazi FC 3-0 away on Matchday one of the Uganda Premier League.[2]

Mbarara City FC

In August 2018, Ssemugabi signed for Mbarara City FC after being the top scorer in the Masaza ga Buganda competitions of 2018 with Ssaza Ssingo.[5]

Kitara FC

In July 2023, Ssemugabi signed a one year contract to become the 5th signing for the club in the transfer window after spending 5 years at Mbarara City FC.[6]

International Career

In August, 2024, Jude Ssemugabi was summoned in Coch Paul Put's Uganda Cranes squad to face South Africa and Congo in the Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers 2025.[7][8]

He made his debut against Congo in the Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers 2025 when he came as a substitute in the first half for Muhammad Shaban and scored a second goal for the Uganda Cranes as Uganda beat Congo 2-0 at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.[9][10]
