Isaac Smith is an American football safety for the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
Early life and high school
[edit]Smith attended Itawamba Agricultural High School located in Fulton, Mississippi. Coming out of high school, Smith was rated as a four-star recruit, where he held offers from schools such as Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Mississippi State, Texas A&M, and USC.[1][2] Ultimately, Smith decided to commit to play college football for the Mississippi State Bulldogs.[3][4]
College career
[edit]During Smith's first collegiate season in 2023, he appeared in all 12 games for the Bulldogs, where he totaled 15 tackles on the season.[5][6] In week one of the 2024 season, Smith had a breakout game getting the start, where he tallied 11 tackles and a pass deflection in a season-oppening win over the Eastern Kentucky Colonels.[7] In week four, Smith notched seven tackles and a forced fumble through just three quarters after leaving with a concussion, in a loss versus the Florida Gators.[8] In week five, Smith missed Mississippi State's matchup with the #1 Texas Longhorns, after getting concussed in the previous game.[9]
