She was a professor in the department of computer and information sciences at the University of Delaware.[1] Shatkay was a senior member and served on the board of directors of the International Society for Computational Biology.[2]

Career

[edit]

Shatkay received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in computer science from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel. She earned her doctoral degree in computer science from Brown University in 1999, under Leslie Kaelbling. From 1999 to 2000, she served as a postdoctoral fellow at the National Center for Biotechnology Information.
