Chhitaranjan Murmu(Cheeta); born 02 March 1995) is an Indian professional Rugby Player who plays as a Full-Back and Winger. Widely regarded as one of the most prolific winger, he represented the India U-19 Rugby team in 2010 and he has led India to victory in the 2007 Touraid U-14 Junior World Cup in London, England. He also led the teams that Runner-up in the U-16 KISS (India) Rugby team tour to Australia in 2008 and won 06 matches out of 08 matches in Melbourne, Adelaide, Darwin and Sydney. And was a member of the Runner-up squad in Coca-Cola Asian Rugby Championship 2013 in Lahore, Pakistan. ACHIVEMENTS OF CHITTARANJAN MURMU

Early Life Born in Santoshpur, Balasore, Odisha, Murmu made his first Rugby carrier with KISS RUGBY CLUB and Jungle Crows (Kolkata) in 2006. He made his debut for the State team in 2007 in All India and played his first match against Jharkhand a year later against Army Red in All India & South Asia Rugby Championship in Mumbai 2008.


Family and Schooling Murmu was born on 02 Mar 1995 In Balasore, Odisha in a Sarna (Santhal) family to Late Katin Murmu and Malati Murmu in very poor family. Later his family move to Bhubaneswar. [4] His parents hailed from tribal village in Udala and Jaleswar and he was the second oldest of seven children.[5][6][7] Murmu did his schooling at Kalinga Institute of Socially Sciences (KISS) first tribal university in Bhubaneswar where he started playing Athletics as a Sprinter but later moved to play Rugby on the suggestion of his coach Rudrakesh Jena and Dr. Achyuta Samanta (Founder of KISS University).[10][11] From 2005.
