The Battle of Navarin was the battle that resulted in the Russian victory in 1770

The Course of War

Shortly after the start of the war, the Russian fleet, under the command ofAdmiral G. A. Spiridov, was sent to the Mediterranean Sea to expel part of the Ottoman forces from the Black Sea and Danube theater and to assist in the Greek revolt. A landing force of 300 men and siege artillery under the command of naval artillery brigade I. A. Hannibal came ashore On April 21, after 6 days of bombardment Yuri Vladimirovich Dolgorukov With a detachment of 1,000 men, he stormed the castle [1][2] according to other sources, Russian forces forced the fortress garrison to surrender on April 8 (19).[3]
