Ayden Mayeri (born October 1, 1990) is an American actress, comedian, and writer, known for her work in both television and film. She is best known for her role as Shadi in the Amazon MGM Studios film Jackpot! (2024) and for starring in the Peacock comedy series Mr. Throwback. Mayeri has also appeared in the films Somebody I Used to Know (2023), Confess, Fletch (2022), and I Love That for You(2022). She portrayed Blythe in Killing It (2022) and played a leading role in Cora Bora (2023). she had a recurring role in the television series Homecoming (2018).

Early life

Ayden Mayeri was born on October 1, 1990, in Oakland, California, USA, She has mentioned in interviews that she has always had a passion for performing and comedy from a young age. Mayeri eventually moved to Los Angeles to pursue an entertainment career.She studied dramatic theater at California State University, Fullerton.[1]

Mayeri began her acting career in the early 2010s with minor roles in television shows. Her breakout came with appearances in TV series Harder Than It Looks.[2] She guest-starred in the popular Fox sitcom New Girl, which helped elevate her profile. Around the same time, she joined the cast of the Apple TV+ murder-mystery comedy The Afterparty, playing a memorable role as a pregnant mean girl who goes missing.[3]

In 2019, Mayeri appeared in multiple episodes of the critically acclaimed political satire Veep on HBO, She also made guest appearances on Larry David's iconic show Curb Your Enthusiasm. In 2024, Mayeri headlined the Peacock comedy series Mr. Throwback.[4][5]

She has worked alongside major stars and directors, demonstrating her adaptability across various genres. Mayeri was cast in starring film roles in Home Again (2017), Spin Me Round (2022),[6][7] Confess, Fletch (2022),[8] Cora Bora (2023),[9] Grown Ups (2010), Random Tropical Paradise (2017), Into the Dark: Midnight Kiss (2019), Alex Strangelove (2018), Before You Know It (2019), Concerning the Bodyguard (2015), and We Are Your Friends (2015).

In August 2024, it was announced that she has been cast as Shadi co-starring with Awkwafina and John Cena for the Amazon MGM Studios 2024 film Jackpot!.[10]

Personal life

Mayeri married her longtime partner, M. Miller Davis, who is a screenwriter and producer In 2018.[3] Mayeri is a fan of Stephen Curry.[11][4]
