Ashish Monpara is a Uganda-based Indian businessman and the chairman of Modern Group, a conglomerate operating across multiple industries in Uganda.[1][2][3][4][5]
Career
[edit]Monpara completed his Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Mumbai and Switzerland before relocating to Uganda.[6][7][8]
In 2015, he made his first investment in Uganda and founded the Modern Group. The company began its operations in Uganda with Modern Distillers Ltd.[9][10][11][12]
Monpara expanded the Modern Group across sectors such as tile manufacturing, aluminum production, gas, and sugar refining.[13][14][15][16][17][18][19]
In 2022, Monpara announced additional investments in Uganda, including a proposed $100 million pharmaceutical plant and further expansion of sugar and steel production.[20][21][22][23][24][25]
