ASA Banka d.d., or simply ASA, is largest[4] Bosnian owned[5] commercial[6] bank[who?] serving Bosnia and Herzegovina headquartered in Sarajevo.
With stakes listed on the Sarajevo Stock Exchange - majority with private capital, bank operate under name ASA (SWIFT code: IKBZBA2XXXX) with the address Trg međunarodnog prijateljstva br. 25, Sarajevo.
ASA Banka d.d. Sarajevo started operating under current name on 30 December 2016 and it was created by the merger of Moja Banka d.d. Sarajevo (2006–2016) to the Investiciono-komercijalna banka d.d. Zenica (1957–2016).
With the acquisition of Vakufska banka d.d. Sarajevo (in November 2021)[7] and ex Russian owned Sberbank BH d.d. Sarajevo (in March 2022) via ASA Finance and ASA banka Naša i snažna d.d. Sarajevo[8] (in December 2022) to the main legal entity, ASA Banka d.d. Sarajevo has positioned itself as one of the leading commercial bank on Bosnian market, the largest domestic[9] and the third largest commercial bank in Bosnia and Herzegovina.[10]
ASA Banka is a member of Bosnian interbank ATM Network BH mreža operated by national payment clearing provider[11] and processing center BAMCARD.[12]
It is a member of Deposit Insurance Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (AOD)[13] and it is supervised by FBA banking regulator based on CB BiH[14] regulations.
ASA Banka also offers consumer and business loans, housing loans, debit and credit cards for customers in 63 branches (2024) in FBiH towns.
History

[edit]Investiciono-komercijalna banka d.d. Zenica was founded in 1957 In Socialist Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina) as Komunalna banka Zenica, then Kreditna banka Zenica, and later Privredna Banka Sarajevo - Filijala Zenica, PBS Osnovna banka Zenica.
In 1990, before the war in BiH, new legal entity was formed as Joint-stock company - (in Bosnian, d.d. - dioničko društvo) and operated under the name Investiciono-komercijalna banka d.d. Zenica[15]. After Bosnia and Herzegovina independence referendum, bank continued to operate until 2016.
Moja Banka d.d. Sarajevo
[edit]Moja Banka d.d. Sarajevo was founded in 2006 and operated as Validus banka d.d. Sarajevo, then VABA banka d.d Sarajevo, and FIMA banka d.d. Sarajevo. In 2010, it was named Moja Banka d.d. Sarajevo - which operated until the merger of Moja Banka with Sarajevo to Investiciono-komercijalna banka d.d. Zenica[16].

[edit]ASA Banka d.d. Sarajevo started operating under current name in Sarajevo on 30 December 2016.
With the acquisition of Bosnian Vakufska banka d.d. Sarajavo, which took place in November 2021, ASA Banka d.d Sarajevo becomes the largest domestic bank with over one billion in assets, a wide network of branches, clients and partners in the entire FBiH entity.[17]
When Russia's largest lender Sberbank announced on February 2, 2022, that it was exiting almost all European markets,[18] blaming a large outflow of cash and threats to its staff and assets following Russia's invasion of Ukraine and international sanctions that followed, according to media reports,[19] it was stated that the operation of Sberbank BH d.d. Sarajevo and Sberbank a.d. Banja Luka was also threatened[20] due War in Ukraine.
Banking Agency of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBA) on 1 March 2022 (on Independence Day in Bosnia and Herzegovina)[21] has announced that the purchase of Sberbank BH d.d. Sarajevo in FBiH entity has been completed by ASA banka d.d. Sarajevo, creating new legal entity ASA banka Naša i snažna d.d. Sarajevo[9] owned by ASA Group. With the acquisition of Sberbank BH d.d. Sarajevo, ASA banka fully integrated ASA banka Naša i snažna d.d. Sarajevo into ASA Banka d.d. Sarajevo creating[22] largest Bosnian-owned[23] bank.
Next day, on 2 March 2022, Banking Agency of Republika Srpska (ABRS) also announced that the purchase of Sberbank a.d. Banja Luka in RS has been completed by local Nova Banka, so ex. Banja Luka based Sberbank started operating under new name - ATOS BANK.
The old (Sberbank BH) ATMs and branches in Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina entity were integrated in 2022 into the new ATM network BH Mreža[24] which was expanded via BAMCARD[25], company majority owned by ASA Group.

Nakon kupovine dionica Sberbank BH i promjene naziva u „ASA Banka Naša i Snažna" krajem prošle godine dolazi do pripajanja ASA banci. ASA banka, nastala je spajanjem Moje Banke d.d.
