[edit]What sort of category is this? What makes an "Irish play" Irish? Saying that a play has some sort of nationality is rather nonsensical. A play can be written by someone with a nationality, or set in some country, but saying that a play has a nationality itself?? Dysprosia 03:21, 28 May 2005 (UTC)
- I imagine it's a generalized way of saying it was written by someone with a nationality. It's just an idiom/figure of speech. Like calling a book a British/American/French novel -- it's implicit that one's referring to the author, since obviously the book is not a person. --Phoenix-forgotten 03:26, 2005 May 28 (UTC)
- In most Wiki categories, the phrase refers to the author's nationality. So if the author is Irish, then it would be an Irish play. Adding a sentence to clarify that. Dugwiki 16:49, 12 July 2006 (UTC)
- Ok, I added an introduction in the category's description that clarifies what is meant by "nationality". Basically, the nationality is the nationality of the playwright. I also added some qualifications in cases of multiple citizenship or multiple authors. Hopefully the introduction isn't controversial, but if someone objects to what I wrote feel free to discuss it here and we'll go with whatever description the consensus wants.
