Why does this category exist?

[edit]

There is no category named "Male candidates for President of the United States." As such, there is greater gender inequality on Wikipedia. The two ways to remove this gender inequality would be:

(1) Create a category named "Male candidates for President of the United States".

(2) Delete the category "Female candidates for President of the United States".

My preference would be (2), because segregating candidates by gender moves us further away from a world where voters don't give a second thought to a candidate's gender. 2601:281:CC80:5AE0:29B4:5E84:75E6:E77D (talk) 19:55, 8 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your contribution. This category exists, because male candidates for president are the default. There has never been a female president, thus making female canditates something special. Also, more generally, Wikipedia can be biased. Although, you can feel free to create the category of male presidential candidates. Again, thank you for your time.
