What ACW ships are not to be included in this category?
[edit]Does this category mean something that I do not think it means? A "patrol vessel" is defined to be a rather small warship, but many of the ships included here are among the largest in service at the time of the ACW. A quick glance gives the following examples: Brooklyn, Catskill, Colorado, Congress, Hartford, Metacomet, Saratoga, Pensacola, New Ironsides. This sample includes sloops, screw sloops, monitors, frigates, and the one-of-a-kind New Ironsides — in other words, just about every type of ship in the Navy at the time. If we mean to be that inclusive, why not just merge the category into Category:Ships of the Union Navy? If not that, then some work must be done to cull the list.
