Category:Language articles citing Ethnologue 16

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

An article is automatically added to this tracking category when the article includes {{e16}} or {{ethnologue16}} or when its {{infobox language}} includes |ref=e16.

Most should be updated to a reference to a later Ethnologue population figure or to another reference.

There are a couple reasons why an old ref may be desired: In the case of several Indian languages, E17 conflates a large fraction of speakers with Hindi. An undated population figure or extinction may have been copied over since E16 (but not E15), and the out-of-date citation will provide some indication of how dated the figure is, or a date for the last speakers may be given. In several cases, there are errors in the E17 entry, such as a 1983 citation being attributed to "SIL 2011" in a language which may be extinct, or a missing or corrupted date.

The articles in this category were checked against the new 18th edition of Ethnologue on 2005-2-27.

Note: 70 pages which do not occur in this category transclude the template {{e16}}. They should be double checked as well.
