Circolo Canottieri Napoli (English: Naples Rowing Club) is an Italian nautical club. Founded in 1914, its headquarters is located in the Gardens of Molosiglio in San Ferdinando, overlooking the bay of Naples. With more than a thousand members, the club hosts several Olympic disciplines such as boating, motorboat racing, swimming, water polo, tennis, triathlons and more [citation needed]. Their home court is in downtown Naples housed in the municipal swimming pool on Ulisse Prota Giurleo Street.
The headquarters
[edit]The club’s headquarters is located at the southwest corner of the Molosiglio Gardens, close to Acton Street and the adjacent port. Spanning an area of 7,000 sq m, with 3,500 sq m of covered facilities, it stands as one of the largest sailing clubs in Naples. The marina accommodates around 150 boats and serves as the base for speedboat and boating activities.
The headquarters feature two swimming pools—one specifically for children and another built to FINA standards for competitive water sports. Additionally, the club includes two tennis courts. The terraces and lounges regularly host cultural events, social gatherings, and various activities, enhancing the club’s vibrant community atmosphere.
Sports activities
[edit]Canottieri Napoli organizes and participates in many sports events at the national and international level, with many sport teams.
The men's water polo team competes in Italy's Serie A2 (men's water polo).
The teams competing in swimming and rowing have consistently performed well in the Italian league and continue to contribute athletes to the national teams.
The club has organized a race with boats in force for the period of the Italian Championship in 2012 for the category Offshore 3000. The fight took place on June 2nd and 3rd in the water in front of the promenade cittadino.[1]
Circolo Canottieri Napoli also organizes many races. This sport has a momentum in the game in the World Series Naples 2012 - 2013 brought America's Cup.
The triathlon is the latest sport practiced in Canottieri Napoli.
Water polo team
[edit]The Canottieri Napoli's water polo team has achieved significant success both in Italy and other European countries. In the TROPHY includes several national championships[2] and cups but over the diamond in the crown is the 1978 European Championship.
