Andrei Dăescu (born 28 August 1988) is a Romanian professional pickleball player. He is also a former professional tennis player and who played on the ITF Men's Circuit and ATP Tour. He is a former member of the Romania Davis Cup Team, and also played in the prestigious 2015 US Open. He reached a career-high ATP doubles ranking of 126, and a career-high singles ranking of 654. He was coached by Silviu Tănăsoiu and [[John Roddick], and he is an alumnus of the University of Oklahoma.[3]

Pickleball Career

Andrei began playing pickleball in 2017, and immediately fell in love with the game. After playing various exhibitions and tournaments, he decided to play professional in 2022. He began his career in the Association of Pickleball Players (APP). He won gold in 4 APP events in 2022, and overtime reached a career-high #1 in the men's doubles and men's mixed doubles rankings. Eventually, Andrei began to transition to the Professional Pickleball Association (PPA) tour and the Major League Pickleball (MLP) association. He won his first MLP championship title in Atlanta with the Orlando Squeeze, and currently is drafted to the Arizona Drive. As of December 11, 2024, he is ranked #11 for mens doubles and #12 in men's mixed doubles in the PPA. He has won 3 gold medals in mens doubles and 1 in mixed so far.
