Dolná Streda (Hungarian: Alsószerdahely) is a village and municipality in the Galanta District of the Trnava Region of western Slovakia.
History
[edit]In historical records the village was first mentioned in 1283. Before the establishment of independent Czechoslovakia in 1918, it was part of Pozsony County within the Kingdom of Hungary.
Geography
[edit]The municipality lies at an elevation of 125 metres and covers an area of 13.47 km2 (5 sq mi). It has a population of about 1410 people.
