Alexandra Mackenzie Pfeiffer (born November 26, 2007) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a forward for the Kansas City Current of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) and the United States national under-17 team. She was signed by the Current at age 15 in 2023.
Early life
[edit]Pfeiffer grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. She played youth soccer for St. Louis Scott Gallagher of the Elite Clubs National League (ECNL), winning under-16 national club title in 2022.[1]
Club career
[edit]Pfeiffer signed a three-year contract with the Kansas City Current through the NWSL Under-18 Entry Mechanism on October 30, 2023, at 15 years and 338 days old, becoming the fourth-youngest signing in NWSL history.[2][3] She scored on her NWSL debut against the Portland Thorns on March 16, 2024, becoming the youngest scorer in NWSL history at 16 years, 3 months, and 20 days old.[3] In a match against the Houston Dash on June 28, Pfeiffer tore her ACL and meniscus in the second half, ending her rookie season[4] and making her unable to compete at the 2024 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup.[5]
